World Ovarian
Cancer Day

On May 8, the world comes together to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and drive meaningful change for women everywhere.

World Ovarian Cancer Day

Established in 2013 by global ovarian cancer advocacy leaders, World Ovarian Cancer Day is the one day each year dedicated to uniting the international community around a shared goal: improving outcomes for women affected by ovarian cancer.

While the World Ovarian Cancer Coalition advances systemic change year-round, World Ovarian Cancer Day serves as our global awareness and mobilisation platform — bringing visibility, urgency, and collective momentum to the cause.

More than 200 partner organizations — from grassroots advocacy groups to national health bodies — stand together on May 8 to amplify women’s voices and highlight the need for earlier diagnosis, equitable access to care, and greater prioritisation of ovarian cancer worldwide.

Together, our global community expands its reach and impact every year — strengthening awareness, engagement, and action across countries and regions.

2026 Theme
#NoWomanLeftBehind

This theme reflects our unwavering commitment to equity in ovarian cancer outcomes worldwide. No woman’s symptoms should be dismissed. No woman should face unnecessary delays in diagnosis. No woman should be denied quality care because of where she lives.

#NoWomanLeftBehind is a call to health systems, policymakers, and communities to close the gaps that cost lives — and to ensure that progress in ovarian cancer reaches every woman, everywhere.

Global Impact & Reach

Since 2013, World Ovarian Cancer Day has grown into a truly global movement; mobilising communities in more than 50 languages and sparking activity across 80% of the world’s countries.

Each year on May 8th, the global ovarian cancer community comes together in a powerful display of collective action. Local advocates lead awareness events, national organizations drive media engagement, and global partners amplify key messages — all united across regions, sectors and cultures by a shared purpose: improving outcomes for women everywhere.

The impact is visible at every level. Communities are better informed. Conversations are changing. Awareness is rising. Policymakers are listening. Momentum is building.

This progress is made possible by the unwavering dedication of our partners, the leadership of advocacy organizations, and the vital support of sponsors and donors who help bring this global day to life.
