African Cancer Foundation
Africa Cancer Foundation (ACF) was formed on April 6, 2011 as a charitable Trust, and launched on July 12, 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya. ACF works towards a cancer-free Africa by promoting the prevention of cancer and providing holistic solutions for people affected by cancer in Africa. In striving to do so, ACF seeks to establish best practice standards and promote exchange of experience with existing centers of excellence around the world and thereby reduce the knowledge gap between the developed and developing world. This has led us to focus our work on providing and encouraging screening and driving Kenya and hopefully, Africa, towards early diagnosis and access to cancer care and treatment for all afflicted irrespective of social status. . In line with this, ACF chose the West African Adinkra symbol “Hwe Mu Dua” or the “measuring stick” – a symbol of examination and quality control as its logo. This symbol stresses the need to strive for the best quality, and this is exactly what ACF seeks to do.
